今回は東京農工大

2020年度入試の出題から。

地球温暖化の原因のひとつに

牧畜が挙げられていて、

そこから食生活を

変える必要があるよって

話になり昆虫食への展開・・・

という、よくある流れです。

（大学入試の英語ではｗ）

でも！

最後に５0～６0語で、

自由英作文が出ています！

お題は、

「日本で食品ロスを

防ぐためにできることは

なにか、2つの具体例を

示せ」

というものです！

ちょいと語数が

モノ足りませんがｗ

書いてみました。

よくあるテーマとはいえ、

だからこそ英検や

学校からの課題でも

出くわす可能性が

高いですね！

   In order to prevent

food waste, we can do two

things.  One is to write

down what to by before

going shopping.

By doing this, we won't

buy more than we need. 

The other is to avoid

preparing meals too much.

What is left over may be

thrown away, which will

also be food waste.  These

are small but effective ways.  

大学入試レベルだと

もうすこし語数を増やして

掘り下げていきたいものです。

増やすとしたら、

買い物前にメモを

書かなければすでに家に

あるものをまた買って

しまったり（without the note,

we are likely to buy what

we have already had ）、

食事を作りすぎた場合には

うまく保管しないと食べきれず

廃棄してしまうことになったり

（ if we don't keep the leftover

properly, the food may be

of little nutrition and attraction

and be thrown away ）

という点を盛り込めば

よいと思います。

2020年、コロナ禍での国際スポーツイベント

今回は電気通信大学2019年度の入試より。

いまこそ、これを考えるべきかな？

と思ったので書いてみました。

お題はこれです。

Do you think that international sporting events help to support world peace?  Why or why not? 

少なくとも二つの理由を挙げて

英語で具体的に答えよと

指示があります。

コロナ禍のいま、延期になった

東京五輪どころか地域予選の開催も

危ぶまれています。

すでに「商業五輪」と言われ、

多くの業種を巻き込んだ

一大観光イベントとなってしまった

オリンピック。

「出場することに意義がある」と

言われた平和主義は、

いまだ国際スポーツイベントに

息づいているのでしょうか？

それとも・・・

すでに大義名分と

化しているのでしょうか？

今回、私は、否定的な立場から

書きました。

もしかしたら肯定的な立場から

答案を作ればもっと書きやすいの

かもしれないけれど。

   In my opinion,

international sporting events

don't always help to support

world peace.  First, certainly it is

precious to see athletes

from different parts of

the world competing;

but in fact their results

would rather make

their nationalities stronger

than contribute to world peace.  Competing in international

sporting events can divide

people who are watching

them, causing some people

to feel angry, or making them

have negative feelings

toward a particular

country or area.  There

seems to be an assumption

that world peace means

the time when all the people

regardless of their nationalities

can enjoy sports, but actually

athletes and audience

cannot play and enjoy

their sports without their

nationalism.  Next, athletes

have to get supports from

their nations.  This means

the stronger their nation is

and the more money it can

invest in athletes, so athletes

can get a bigger chance

to win in the events.  That is,

performance of athletes

can depend on their

nations' economic power. 

This trend cannot get along

with world peace.

共通テスト日程・・・併設型中高一貫校の生徒はどうなるの？

令和3年度入試の共通テストの

日程が発表されました。

第一日程・第二日程・

特例追試の三段構えです。

〇第一日程は浪人生・現役生

〇第二日程は第一日程を

疾病などで受験できなかった

現役生と、出願時に学校長が

「学習の遅れがある」と

認めた現役生

〇特例追試は、第二日程を

疾病などで受験できなかった

現役生

どうやら第一・第二日程は

共通テスト形式を実施するが、

特例追試はセンター試験形式を

実施する模様。

私立大学の入試日程に

関わってくるので、大部分の

高校生が第一日程で出願すると

思います。

第二日程だと私立大学の

入試日にモロかぶりしそうで、

今後、各大学からの発表を

待ちたいと思います。

今日は、併設型中高一貫校の

生徒の出願について・・・

併設型というのは、

中学入学時点で受検してもらい

生徒を選抜する一方で、

高校入学時点でも入試を行い

中学三年生を選抜し、

高校からは内部進学生とともに

同じ校舎で勉強をする

という仕組み。

ただ実際には、中学時点で

進度に差があり、内部進学生と

高校から入ってきた生徒とは

同じクラスで授業を受けることは

少ないようです。

内部進学生には「特進クラス」が

設けてあって、どんどん先に

進んだ内容を扱っていきます。

さて・・・

同じ高校に在籍していても、

高校入試準備に時間をとられず

中学三年生時点で高校内容を

一部勉強し始めている生徒。

高校入試を経て、高校一年生から

よーいドンで高校内容を

勉強し始める生徒。

これらの生徒が、「同じ」

校長先生の判断で、

「同じ」共通テスト日程を

受験する。

不公平がすでにここから

始まっていると、思いませんか？

東京学芸大学の出題もキレてる（褒め

今回は東京学芸大学2020（英語選修）の

自由英作文を扱います。

「人間をレンタルするサービスが

人気を博していることについて、

あなたの考えを200語程度の英語で

書きなさい。」

というお題でした。

教育系志望じゃないからいいや・・・

という方！

食わず嫌いはいけません！

東京学芸大学はすばらしい出題を

してくれます！

むしろこんなに独創的なサービスを

題材にもってくるあたり、社会を

見つめる目の確かさを英語の運用力と

ともに尋ねるというハイレベルな

意図さえも感じられます！

これはぜひ書いてみるべきです！

さて今回私は、人間をレンタルする

サービスを利用する側の状況と、

さらにそのサービスを提供している

演者側の状況について述べてみました。

サービスを利用する側の需要は

変化しています。

昔なら結婚式に招く縁者の数が

両家で釣り合わないのはおかしい

から・・・ということで人間を

雇ってまでも数を揃えるということを

やっていたようですが、今では

大きな披露宴をやって見栄を張る

時代ではなくなりました。

それよりも現在は、人口減の影響か、

なかなか腹を割って相談する相手を

みつけるのが難しくなりました。

親や兄弟姉妹にも、相談したくない

ことだってあるでしょう。

その時、お金を払ってでも悩みを

聞いてもらえる人がいたら、

心が軽くなるでしょう。相談内容は、

親や兄弟姉妹に知られたくないこと

である可能性もあります。

お金を払って、割り切った人間関係を

持つことも時には必要かもしれません。

一方で、演技をする側の人間に

とっても、各種の式に呼ばれなくなると

自分の演技を磨く場面が減って

しまいます。

彼らもまた、個人的な需要に応える

ことによって日常生活で依頼主を

相手に演技をする訓練ができますし、

同時に依頼主を助けることにも

なるのです。

このサービスは、双方を幸せにする

サービスだといえるでしょう。

   I think it very interesting

to hire a person in order to

meet some demand in social

situations.  However, many

of young couples want

a simpler wedding ceremony

so they will need fewer

guests.  As what clients

want changes, these services

have also been changing. 

These days in Japan the

birthrate is declining and

the number of people is

getting smaller.  Many

young adults don't always

have friends to talk with,

go to the movie with, or

consult about personal

affairs whenever they

need someone.  If you have

some trouble in daily life

but you don't want your

family to know about it,

you will be at a loss

whom to consult.  You

will have to find someone

who can help you and

at the same time who can

keep your secret.  It is easier

to look for such a person

among professional personal

actors/actresses rather than

among your acquaintances. 

On the other hand,

to professional personl

actors/actresses, the changes

in this business will be

welcomed.  If ceremonies

become simpler and

the offers to attend those

ceremonies decrease,

then performers will have to

find more opportunities to

practice acting.  They can train

themselves by applying for

the personal offer and putting

on an expected act, which

means at the same time that

they can help those who are

in trouble.  This service can be

said to make both sides happy,

clients and performers.

青山学院大学の出題は着眼点が良いと思う

青山学院大学文学部2020年度入試にて

出題された自由英作文のお題です。

今の社会を観察しているかどうか、

上手にすくいとったお題だと

思いました。

今日はこれを書いてみます。

問題文はこちらです。

   What do you think are the warning signs of using social media too much and what would you do if you saw such signs in someone close to you?  

この人・・・ソーシャルメディアに

ハマりすぎているな！と

思ってしまう危険な兆候を複数挙げ、

もし親しい人にその兆候が見られたら、

あなたはどうしますか？

というお題。

危険な兆候を複数個あげると

いいましたが要求されている語数が

50語程度なので二つも書けば

十分でしょう。

終盤は近しい人へのアドバイスを

置きますがその内容は誰でも

容易に思いつくものなので

難しくないし差がつかない。

勝負は前半、兆候を具体的に

書けるかどうかで差がつきます！

今回は、

（１）

インターネットから離れて

いられないこと

（２）

自分の意見を持つにあたって

特定のサイトに過度に依存すること

この二つを兆候として書いてみました。

I think of two signs; one is that

a person cannot stay away from

the Internet and the other, the

person will depend too much

on some particular sites to develop

his own opinion.  If I found such

signs in my close friend, I would

advise him to stop using

social media too long and

to be fair about things.  

ちょっと多いですね・・・

削るなら終盤の

and to be fair about thingsですね。

具体的な内容ではないし、

捨てても惜しくないところだと

思います。
