今回は2023年度入試
東京学芸大学の自由英作文です。
「児童生徒が教育に参加すること」
について200語程度の英語で
自分の意見を述べます。
リード文にはフィンランドの事例が
のっていて、「フィンランドの
教育基本法第４７条では、
すべての児童生徒が学校の
活動と発展に参加でき、
本人の地位に関する事柄に
関して意見を表現できるよう
配慮し、推進する。児童生徒には、
教育計画及び、それに関する計画、
学校の規則作成に参加する
機会を作らなければならない」
とのことです。
実際に、多数の子どもたちの
意見を聞いているようです。
論としては理想的に
思えますが、現実には
どうでしょう。
うっかり賛成の立場で
書くと、具体的なメリットが
浮かびにくくて
書きづらいかもしれません。
今回は反対・・・
というより否定的な立場で
書いてみました。
構想は以下のように考えました。
○児童生徒が教育に
参加することは、児童生徒に
当事者意識・自分たちが
受ける教育に積極的に
関わっていくことの重要性を
気づかせることになり、
とてもよいことだ。
○しかしフィンランドに
おいては「多数の子どもたちの
意見を聞いている」のであって、
法律で定められた「すべての
児童生徒」から聞いている
わけではない。すべての
児童生徒が教育における
意思決定に加わるのは
非現実的だ。
○日本において、すべての
児童生徒が教育における
意思決定に参加することは
同様に不可能だ。さらに、
一部の児童生徒に意見を
求めることは機会の不平等に
つながる。
○しかし、児童生徒の意見を
一切、取り入れないという
ことを言いたいのではない。
各種アンケートから要望を
集めることもできるし、
生徒の代表が生徒の意見を
まとめることもある。
教師側が生徒の声を受け入れ、
教育にどのように活かすかを
考えることも重要だ。
「生徒会」「学級委員」などを
使わないように気をつけましょう。
そんな英単語知らない！と
パニックになってしまい
時間とエネルギーのムダです。
知ってる英単語や表現を駆使して、
説明的に書けば大丈夫ですよ。
その言い換えスキルがあるか
どうかを大学は見たいのです。
I think of it as pretty good
for schoolchildren to take
part in discussions over
their education, which
will make schoolchildren
realize how important it is
to be positively involved
in their education. However,
there are some problems
in the principle that
schoolteachers should listen
to all the opinions schoolchildren
have. Actually, even in Finland,
schoolteachers gather opinions
from a large number of
schoolchildren, not from
all the schoolchildren. It can
be impracticable that
all the schoolchildren should
participate in decision-making
over education. Similarly,
also in Japan, it is impossible
for all the schoolchildren to
be allowed to discuss over
their studying environments.
Moreover, it will lead to
inequality of opportunity
to ask a limited number of
students their opinions.
On the other hand, I don't want
to say that it is no use hearning
schoolchildren saying about
their education. Thanks to
information technology,
many schools can gather
various opinions from
schoolchildren and parents
through the online forms.
Students and parents can
have a good way to express
what they are thinking to
schools. Also, students can
choose their representatives,
and the representatives can
talk with each other in order
to offer students' ideas to
teachers. It is very important
for teachers to receive
children's voices and to make
use of them to improve their
educational environments.
