I think happiness means living a
peaceful life without comparing oneself
with others nor getting too much
influenced by others. We can feel
happy when we live satisfied with
daily scenes, but each of us will feel
happy on different situations. Some
people will be satisfied when they have,
for example, large income, high status
in society, and a partner.
However, I think an ability to produce
stiations where one can feel fulfilled
has a bigger impact than material factors
or situations where one depends on
others. Large income is certainly
necessary for us to live by, but in order
to get much money people will have to
work harder, which can result in
shorter time to spend with other
family members. Also it is difficult
to have some time to feel relaxed.
As a result, people may feel less happy.
High status in society is a mere position.
It can be said that those who feel
satisfied with higher status are likely
to have some mental disorders.
That is not a healthy life.
Having a partner doesn't always
mean happiness. In Japan, it is legally
difficult for LGBTQ people to have a
partner, because Japanese society
still has some aspects which can
prevent people from feeling happy.
